Unconscious Bias Workshop: From Awareness to Action!

Feedback form is now closed.

We all have deeply set unconscious or hidden implicit biases. They emerge as we interact and work with others in various settings in the forms of gender, race, ethnicity, physical ability, religion, physical appearance, and sexual orientation bias, among others. When so much is changing in our organizations and communities, it is critical we understand the significant, unconscious impact that bias has on engagement, productivity, behavior, decision making and, ultimately, on personal and organization success. Based on the latest research, this carefully designed, high-quality workshop demonstrates how bias constantly seeps into organizational practices, processes, procedures, and environments. It provides an interactive experience designed to help you become aware of your own unconscious bias more deeply. Participants develop an increased ability to identify and mitigate biases, improve interpersonal interactions, and take action to achieve greater personal, professional and organization success.

At the end of the session, attendees will:
  • Increase their awareness of the unconscious bias we all have as human beings.
  • Strengthen their understanding of the nature, origin, and consequences of cognitive blind spots and bias.
  • Boost their knowledge of the different types of bias that impact all settings.
  • Consider their own worldviews and how those emerged during their upbringings.
  • Have greater appreciation of the value of the contributions of diverse employees and other members of society.
  • Acquire tools to use to ensure behaviors and decision making are more effective and equitable.
